Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a centuries-old healing technique, and one of the key treatments in Chinese Medicine.

This form of treatment involves the insertion of hair thin needles in certain points throughout the body to promote, restore and rebalance the body’s energy flow.

These Acupuncture points are believed to stimulate the central nervous system,  releasing chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord and brain. These biochemical changes stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities while promoting physical and emotional well-being.

Acupuncture has been proven effective for more than 5000 years and is recognized by the World Health Organization as beneficial for over 100 conditions.

Specialized in Stems and Branches Acupuncture

Stems and Branches theory and practice is part of an ancient Chinese medical tradition that was lost with the rise of Mao Tse Tung, forcing those who practiced Chinese medicine to flee the new People’s Republic of China.

Stems and Branches Acupuncture is about cycles of nature, transformations and interactions of Qi (Vital life energy) that affect a person both internally and externally.

The ancient Chinese observed day and night and the changing seasons. They recognized that natural rhythms in nature underlie fundamental aspects of our lives, and are thus fundamental to our health. They believed in a holistic world in which  everything in the universe was interconnected.

According to this theory, humans are a reflection of the universe, based on the idea of microcosm of the human body in reflection of the macrocosm of the environment. This means that the same rules that work in nature are represented in and therefore affect humans. The movement in our body is exactly similar to the big cosmic movement.

Stems and Branches theory is used to help us understand each patient’s constitutional strengths and weaknesses, and why disease occurs in that individual. This helps us develop a treatment plan to address the root cause of the patient’s problem using Acupuncture.

Balance Method Acupuncture

The Balance Method Acupuncture is renowned for its immediate, powerful effects, especially for pain relief, which is one of the most common complaints in the western world.

This method is an acupuncture practice systematized, refined, and taught by the late Grandmaster Dr. Tan, bringing to life thousands of years of fundamental concepts in Chinese medicine and philosophy.

The method is not a symptom-based treatment approach as is commonly used in the West. It works on the idea of meridians that flow through our body, with multiple ways to treat any part of the body. For example, using points on the ankle to treat the shoulder.

The immediate effect of the Balance Method is a powerful demonstration of the way Acupuncture stimulates the body. It serves as an excellent reminder that every treatment is promoting healing and return to homeostasis, even when circumstances do not allow for immediate symptomatic relief.
